Overview: Master advanced digital post-production techniques including green screen keying, rotoscoping, matchmoving, 3D asset integration, and color grading.
15-Week Curriculum:
Weeks 1–3 (Post Pipeline & Editing): Timeline organization, proxy workflows, montage logic, and video codec mechanics.
Weeks 4–7 (Rotoscoping & Green Screen Keying): High-precision keying, spill suppression, edge refinement, and alpha channel masking.
Weeks 8–11 (Matchmoving & Compositing): 3D camera tracking, digital element integration, particle effects, and atmospheric depth passes.
Weeks 12–14 (Color Grading & Finishing): Primary/secondary color correction, LUT workflows, grain management, and master delivery.
Week 15 (Final Review): VFX breakdown reel screening and technical critique.
Assessment Rubric (100 Points Total):
Compositing Precision & Realism (30 pts): Seamless edge blending, color matching, lighting integration, and camera tracking accuracy.
Technical Mastery (25 pts): Clean rotoscoping masks, keying efficiency, node/layer structure, and high-res rendering.
Visual Rhythm & Pacing (25 pts): Effective use of visual effects to serve the story without distracting from narrative beats.
VFX Breakdown Reel (20 pts): Professional before/after split-screen breakdown slides and video reel formatting.
